Ginger Baker's Air Force

Evidentemente Ginger Baker il "supergruppo" l'aveva nel DNA. Dopo i Crem e i Blind Faith, dette vita a uno dei capitoli più interessanti della sua carriera.

Nel 1969 dopo che Clapton lascia i Blind Faith, Baker "arruola" Steve Winwood e Rich Grech, per il suo prossimo progetto una rock-jazz-band di 10 elementi:
Ginger Baker (drums), Graham Bond (alto), Rick Grech (bass & violin), Jeanette Jacobs (vocals), Remi Kabaka (drums), Denny Laine (guitar & vocals), Harold McNair (tenor & flute), Phil Seamen (percussion), Steve Winwood (vocals & organ), Chris Wood (tenor & flute)

Iniziano un breve tour che comprende il tutto esaurito alla Royal Albert Hall di Londra, dove viene registrato l'album "Ginger Baker's Air Force" che verrà pubblicato a fine marzo del 1970.

Usciranno altri due album con formazioni diverse. La critica all'epoca non li trattò troppo bene.
